I did yoga for years where my focus was on the poses -- how can I look like the person doing this pose?
I just recently began to realize that the pose is there for me, not me for the pose.
My poses now look much less impressive than when I started, but the work I'm doing inside while in each pose is actually opening me up, which changes everything for me.
It feels the same with things like meditation -- there's the activity (and the fad) of meditation, and then there's a stillness that meditation can help us to find.
It's the stillness that we're looking for.
